Selected Awards & Honors
Len Chmiel’s work has been honored at several of the most prestigious exhibitions devoted to contemporary Western art, reflecting both the strength of his vision and the deep respect of his peers.
Among his many distinctions, Chmiel received the John Geraghty Award for Advancement of Contemporary Western Art at the Masters of the American West Invitational Show and Sale at The Autry Museum in 2022. He was also awarded the James R. Parks Purchase Award at the same exhibition in 2002, in addition to earning six Artists’ Choice Awards there over the years.
At the Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition and Sale at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Chmiel was honored with the Robert Lougheed Memorial Artist’s Choice Award in 2018 and received the Wilson Hurley Award for Outstanding Landscape on two occasions.
His achievements also include two Best of Show Awards and three Artists’ Choice Awards at The Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale.
